Foster child shortlisted for writing awards

Congratulations to Jay Lenton aged 13 and Ryan aged 9 who were shortlisted for the Coram ‘Voices 2019’ national writing Awards.

Voices is a creative writing competition for children in care and care leavers, aged 25 or under. It’s a celebration of creativity, talent and imagination and gives children in care a chance to share their experiences.

Jay and Ryan and their foster families were invited to the awards ceremony in London, presented by Peter Capaldi and had a fantastic time.

Jay even got a doctor themed sketch and autograph from Peter himself!

Shortlisted entries, on the theme of ‘Growing up’, have also been showcased on a special app featuring writing from children in care.
