News from CoramBAAF:

Friendship for All Resources – Survey deadline extended to noon on Wednesday 28 September 2016

Friendship for All, a project run by The Children’s Society and funded by BBC Children in Need, was set up with the aim of strengthening friendships in the lives of children and young people in care.

In January 2015 the British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) supported the project by circulating a survey for fostering staff about how social care practice, including foster care training, acknowledges the importance of friendship in the lives of children in care. The responses revealed that children’s friendships were rarely explicitly included in social care practice, with 80 per cent of respondents revealing they didn’t provide Foster Carers with any training to support friendships.

In response to these findings the Friendship for All project developed a range of free training resources and guidance provided via information packs and on their website. Friendship for All is now inviting you to spend a few minutes completing a follow up survey about these resources.

The survey is open until midday on Wednesday 28 September 2016 and is aimed at Foster Carers and other foster care practitioners.

We would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete the survey.
