Nerf Blasting Fun In Street!

Children of Somerset foster carers were treated by Somerset County Council to an energetic day out on Tuesday (11 April), enjoying some Nerf Blasting fun in Street.

Over 25 children met to have fun, running around playing games amongst neon-painted scenery and inflatables whilst enjoying spending time with other children from families who foster.

“It was really good,” said seven year old Amy, “I liked it when we had to shoot in our special nerf T-shirts. I liked knocking the bottles down. It was an amazing day out.”

The activity was kindly donated by Mission Activity Indoor Nerf Arena in Street and was a ‘We Care 2’ event, part of an initiative from the Somerset County Council’s Fostering team to include and support the children of Foster Carers.

Julian Wooster Director of Children’s Services at Somerset County Council said: “I’m delighted the event was so well attended and the children enjoyed themselves. Fantastic support is integral to what we offer our Foster Carers and it’s so important for the children of foster carers to have a space to have fun and talk with other families. The purpose of events like these is to show children we understand that they are as much a part of the fostering process as their parents. We appreciate the time and support they give to foster children in their family and it’s lovely to see them receiving a well-deserved day out.”
