Why it’s good to stay put

Brother and sister Dale and Kaleigh have thrived growing up with their Foster family in Somerset.

In this short video, they talk about why they were pleased to be ‘Staying Put’ – able to stay with their Foster Carers past the age of 18, rather than leaving home to become independent at 18.

Fostering children beyond 18 makes huge difference.

Stability and nurturing parenting really help young people achieve their potential.

Another option is our ‘Stepping Stones’ scheme – providing supported lodgings and mentoring for young people to help them transition in to adulthood.
